Annie and Clarabel Holiday Lodges, Cockerdale Farm, Oldstead, North Yorkshire.

YO61 4BN.

Oldstead is small hamlet  about 27 miles north of York, famous for its Michelin starred restaurant, The Black Swan. It lies roughly between the market towns of Thirsk and Helmsley.

We are the only property with the above post code, so your satnav should bring you straight to us. Failing that what3words: ///super.compelled.expanded  OR traditional map reading will also get you here.

Coming from the West will bring you to either one of two charming villages, Kilburn (home of Mouseman) or Coxwold.

Coming from the East is likely to take you through Ampleforth, home of the well known school and Abbey. After leaving Ampleforth and passing through Wass, you will reach Byland Abbey. Turn right just before the excellent Abbey Inn and head towards Oldstead.

Out of Kilburn head North towards the White Horse  and then bear right along a narrow switchback road towards Oldstead. After passing Brookfield Farm, turn left at a raised bench, just after the boundary of the village, and follow the ascending winding metalled road to a second raised bench bearing the name ‘Cockerdale’.

Alternatively, from Coxwold take the road to Byland Abbey and turn left at the Abbey Inn  towards Oldstead. Turn right at the Black Swan and follow the road through the village and down to the first raised bench mentioned Earlier. Turn right here and again follow the road up to the second raised bench.

At the ‘Cockerdale Bench’, turn left and follow the farm track to the parking bays next to the raised beds. Park in bays only please.

nb. Please drive slowly on all the narrow lanes leading to Cockerdale. Walkers, their dogs and wildlife constantly use these tracks.
